Only two weeks since the installation of Karin Gaffney as District Governor for 2017-18 it is time to think about nominations for District Governor 2020-21. At the business meeting held at our District Conference in Providence Rhode Island in April our membership passed a resolution to revise the structure of our nominating committee. The new structure as passed is as follows.

2.01 The District shall have a Nominating Committee consisting of three active Past District Governors, three club representative Rotarians, the sitting District Governor, the District Governor Elect and the immediate Past District Governor.  The immediate Past District Governor shall be the chair. The three club representative Rotarians shall serve a term of 1 year. active PDGS in good standing will be notified that nomination forms are being accepted for the 3 PDG positions on the Nominating Committee.  For the first year in which this structure will be adopted 3 PDGs need to be selected, 1 for a 1 year term, 1 for a 2 year term and 1 for a 3 year term.   In following years only 1 PDG needs to be selected to fill the new vacancy.  Selection of the PDGs will be done by lottery from those PDGs who have formally submitted a nomination form.

Selection of the 3 club representatives will be made by the incoming Nominating Committee Chair from the group of Presidents who served as Club President while the incoming Nominating Committee Chair was District Governor.

Based on this resolution the Nominating Committee for 2018-19 will be composed of the following members:

Three year term:Tom Polito PDG

Two year term: Carl Kaliszewski PDG

One year term: Doug Detweiler  PDG

Past President: Joe Badenhoff, Acton Boxboro Rotary

Past President: Elmon Hendrickson, Brookline Rotary

Past President: Dawn Casavant, Gardner Rotary

District Governor Elect: Steve Sager

District Governor: Karin Gaffney

Immediate Past District Governors  Skip and Pat Doyle  Co-Chairs

The nominating process will be described in an email sent to all members on August 15. Please read that email which will describe how you can become involved in this important activity.

Thank you,

Skip and Pat Doyle IPDG
