The mission of Rotary is to provide "service above self" by serving others, promoting integrity, and advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
Rotary Fellowships are independent, social groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world.
The objective of Rotarian Wine Appreciation Fellowships is to learn more about wine, wine and food pairings and any other topics related to the appreciation of wine so that members' own appreciation of good wine will be enhanced. Fellowship members seek to accomplish that by sharing their own knowledge and experiences, and by learning from the many wine experts and knowledgeable Rotarians throughout the world.
Point Breeze was founded in 1881 as a private men's sailing club on the shores of Webster Lake. That body of water is also known as Lake Chargoggagoggmanchaugagoggchaubunagungamaugg.
At the turn of the 20th century Point Breeze, became a showcase for weekend exhibitions and entertainment for all of Worcester County. During the "Roaring '20s," Point Breeze Pavilion welcomed regional businesses for their summer outings. Employees would feast on Shore Dinners and local snapping turtle soup while enjoying softball, swimming and bowling.
For the next 50 years, the Gawle family operated Point Breeze as a seasonal function facility catering to area businesses and weddings with a daily restaurant serving the general public. Since the 1980s the Dupont family has added many amenities to bring Point Breeze into the 21st century.
