Global Grant Featured in the Rotarian

Check out the June 2014 issue of the Rotarian! The Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley’s We Are One global grant is featured on page 14 in the World Roundup section.

Per the article: “In August 2013, members of the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, Mass., USA, and a team from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine outside Boston traveled to Santa Domingo to conduct a free dental clinic for 150 patients in the San Felipe de Villa Mella area. The Nashoba Valley club also worked with the Rotary Club of Santo Domingo Innovador on a Rotary Matching Grant project to supply a Rotarian-run clinic with a mobile dental unit – a truck outfitted with donated dental equipment – and provide oral health education in the area’s schools.” The article resulted from highlighting the project in Rotary Showcase. The $52,000 project was funded under a global grant and is well underway in implementation. The club continues to get funding from clubs across the country due to its inclusion in Rotary Showcase.
