Governor's Message

By Jim Fusco

The journey has begun and I am looking forward to an exciting year.

Last week, I made only one visit, and that was to the Rotary Club of the Montachusett Area. But this week, I am in full gear. I will be making seven visits: Acton-Boxborough, Billerica, Hudson, Maynard, Tyngsboro-Dunstable, Uxbridge and Waltham. It will be an exciting week.  My complete visitation scheduled is posted on the Home page of the District website, in the left column under "Upcoming Events."

The District Leadership Dinner was held last Thursday in Leominster. This dinner provided me an opportunity to present my goals to the District leaders and to lay out a District plan to accomplish these goals. Each District committee chair had an opportunity to explain how he or she will accomplish these goals. There is one common goal and that is to help the clubs and keep them informed.

District Newsletter

In last week’s Governor's Message, I stated that the now-weekly Rotary District 7910 Newsletter would be issued at 6:00 p.m. on Mondays, but I have decided to change that. I realized that by doing so, the clubs that meet on Mondays would not receive the Newsletter prior to their Monday meetings. For this reason, the Newsletter will now be issued on Sunday evening.  Please read the Newsletter thoroughly because it will provide a heads-up on District and Rotary International news, and it will be the vehicle to see a schedule of District and Club events. In addition the Newsletter will contain messages from our District committees.

Communications

I will be using the District website to communicate District information, so I urge you to visit the site often.

Rich Dietz Gets Chaired

It's been a tradition in District 7910 for the sitting governor to present a Rotary Rocking Chair to the outgoing District Governor at the District Conference in May. While Rich Dietz (seated, thumbs up) was DG for 2012-2013, he did not receive his rocking chair at the 2013 District Conference. On July 9, during the District Leadership Dinner in Leominster, I made good on that tradition. I (shown far left) and Rich are shown posing with Pat and Skip Doyle, who will be co-DGs in 2016-2017. Thanks, Rich, for all your excellent service above self!

I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. Remember, my team and I am here for you. If there is anything we can do for you or your club, just ask.

We will have a great year!
