District 7910 Outbound Exchange Students Prepare to Depart!

On Wednesday July 25 five young people attended the final outbound orientation in preparation for their year-long study abroad sponsored by Rotary's Student Exchange program, the Eastern States Student Exchange ("ESSEX"). All of the students are excited about their year abroad.  Kira and her twin Noah are sponsored by the Bedford Club. Kira will be travelling to Bolivia, while Noah will be living in Belgium. Kelsey, sponsored by the Acton-Boxborough Club, is headed to France. Lauren, sponsored by the Needham Club, is excited to be going to Switzerland. Ben, sponsored by Framingham Club, will be studying in Columbia.

The event was hosted by the District Outbound Chair Jeanne Reimonn in her home, and attended by the students, their parents, District 7910 Youth Chair (and DGN) Diana Nestorova, District 7910's Student Exchange Subcommittee (Marcia Davis, Jane Schroeder and Jeanne Reimonn), and the Rotary Club of Framingham's Youth Exchange Officer, Sherrie Whittemore.  The students discussed many issues including tips for a successful exchange. Also in attendance was one of our own Rotary Exchange Alumni ("Rotex"), Cassidy Rodriques, who spent the 2016-17 school year in Thailand. Cassidy offered the high points of her exchange and what she has learned through her experience. Cassidy just completed her Freshman year at UMass Amherst.
