The Rotary Club of Framingham in partnership with award-winning and global innovator Rotarian, Dr. Sushil Bhatia, is pleased to present the 2024 Innovation Challenge: Adaptive Device Competition.

Inspired by the American business reality television series, Shark Tank, the Innovation Challenge has partnered with the Framingham High School (FHS) Engineering by Design Program and invites students to design an innovative product or service that directly helps others in need in the City of Framingham.

The presentations were given on June 6, 2024
Team members and implementors of the “adaptive Innovation Challenge” included Framingham High School educators Adrianne Schueller and Peter Erbland along with the Framingham Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay, and Dr. Sushil Bhatia Global Innovator & Entrepreneur.
 
The panelist/judges for the event were Mr. Philip R. Ottaviani, Framingham City Councilor and Area Realtor, Mr. Mark Haranas, President/CEO MutualOne Bank and Dr. Meghan Todd, Vice Chair, Framingham Disability Commission.

Student presented projects entitled:
  • Clip on & Slip on
  • Door Knob
  • Seed Spade
  • Icer
  • Visually Impaired Toddler Walker
Awards were as follows: 
1st Place Design = $1000.00 - Clip On Slip On
2nd Place Design = $600.00 - Seed Spade
3rd Place Design = $400.00 - Door Opener

*An additional $500.00 will be made available for an optional manufacturing phase should the Award winner wish to bring this project to market
