On October 21st, the Marlborough Rotary Club participated in the first annual “Trunk or Treat” event, sponsored by the Marlborough Junior Woman’s Club (MJWC) and the One Hines Women’s Network.  The event was held at The Campus in Marlborough, a business complex located off of Rt. 20, just west of Rt. 495.

Trunk or Treat provided safe, free, family-friendly trick-or-treating, craft activities, food trucks, pumpkin carving contests, costume contests, music and more.  There was a photo booth, and free pumpkins and decorating kits were given out so that families could continue the fun at home.

A DJ provided music and led games. Activities took place around the lot including face painting, a photo booth and pumpkin tic-tac-toe. Free pumpkins and decorating kits were distributed.  Event sponsors and vendor fees covered costs, and raised funds for the MJWC’s ongoing charitable work.

This fun day gave Marlborough Rotary the opportunity to participate in and support a new community event, and to gain exposure to young parents who might be potential Rotarians.  Members braved the cold and wind to make a happy experience for the estimated 200 Disney characters and super heroes who attended the event. As an unexpected added bonus, the club won the children’s favorite vehicle award!
