On March 5, a joyous Zoom crowd witnessed District Governor Diana Nestorova conduct a Charter Ceremony for our district's third Rotaract club, the Rotaract Club of MassBay Community College.

Under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Wellesley, the MassBay club has been working diligently this past year, despite the extraordinary circumstances of COVID-19, to secure its charter.

Under the leadership of Julie Ginn, the Rotaract club's advisor and the director of Career Services at MassBay Community College, and Nathan Persampieri, the Rotaract club's president, the club has not only taken on service projects such as Garden in a Box and fundraisers but has also actively served on the district's new Diverse Abilities United Committee.

The president of the Wellesley club, Vincent Spoto, welcomed MassBay Community College and, on behalf of his club, presented it a check for its Rotaract project.

All three Rotaract clubs in District 7910 are university-based, and the challenge this year has been that some students have returned to campus while others have remained at home. Universities have placed their own restrictions on clubs, with which each Rotaract club has had to comply, adding to the complexity of operating.

We are so proud of these newest members of District 7910. Many thanks to Diana Nestorova, the Wellesley club, Wellesley club member Susan Rack, Nathan Persampieri and Julie Ginn. So many inspiring words were said about the Power of Rotary. Even in this virtual world, we are looking forward to continuing Garden in a Box. We do really Grow as We Go.

Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with community leaders, to develop leadership and professional skills, and to have fun through serviceIn communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side, to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is globally changing communities.
