Westford Rotary is everywhere on social media. This did happen overnight because a 20-something insisted we had to have it. Our consistent presence on Facebook and Instagram seeks to achieve two goals: awareness of our mission and contributions to the community, AND a way to attract younger members.Nicole Hamel is the architect of our social media program. She is a past president (at age 24, now 30) who firmly believes in the bonuses of "being seen". We originally met to create our service calendar but a spirit took over Nicole and suddenly we had a plan for daily postings on FB and IG.
Here is the schedule you may want to consider/expand.Sunday: membership-based reasons to join (incorporate postings from The Rotarian Minute and Rotary Worldwide); Monday - cool things members do, we call it "Member Monday" (and lately we have been reaching back to the early founders of our club); Tuesday - Westford Rotary service and events; Wednesday -information about next meeting; Thursday - focus on service or event; Friday - meeting recap; Saturday - member's pets (most popular).
Hint: Nicole batches up some posts to facilitate scheduling. She always asks members for their input.
