Sustainability expert Nils Tore Skogland will present during the Environmental Sustainability Rotarian Action Group's Biodiversity Meeting this Wednesday, June 9 at 9:00 a.m. (ET) via Zoom. Skogland will focus on Carbon Markets and Sequestration: True Strategic Sustainable Development.

Environmental risk factors, such as air, water and soil pollution, chemical exposures, climate change, and ultraviolet radiation, contribute to more than 100 diseases and injuries. Every year globally, millions of people die due to unhealthy environments.

What are the environmental effects of different economic schemes? Will society become sustainable once the CO2 emissions are reduced? We need to move away from reducing the harm caused by previous innovation mistakes, and start creating true value for customers, companies and nature. How can both A Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development from Karl-Henrik Robert and Innovation Inspired by Nature help humans to become a relevant species in nature?

Nils Tore Skogland (shown, above and right) helps companies create strategies and build knowledge for truly sustainable value, at Skogland.com. He has a degree in economics from the University of Bergen with a specialization in environmental and resource economics, and has studied disciplined entrepreneurship .

Skogland is a visiting lecturer at the master programs at the NHH Norwegian School of Economics in Norway, and Falmouth University in England. He teaches entrepreneurship programs and helps companies develop true values and sustainable business activities. He is also chairman of the board of Blue Ocean Norway, assistant governor of Rotary International for Askøy, Bergen and Øygarden. And, he is the general manager of Pianoskole.no, which has almost 80 piano students in Bergen.
