What if going out to dinner could help put dinner on someone else’s table?
That’s the idea behind the Rotary Club of Wellesley’s 6th Annual Dinner On Us. Participants have the chance to win gift cards to some of Wellesley’s wonderful restaurants while supporting our work to fight food insecurity.
And we’ve seen firsthand what community support can accomplish.
Through funds raised from Wellesley Rotary initiatives including Dinner On Us and Taste of Wellesley, this summer we provided fresh fruits, vegetables and breads to more than 100 families — over 220 adults and children — living in Wellesley public housing.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to double the number of families served in 2026 and provide 20 children with lunches four days a week for six weeks during the summer.
The work continues. This holiday season, we will provide freshly baked pies for 100 families at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for 100 families. We have also raised $10,000 toward the purchase of a blast chiller for The Village Table, which provides meals for local families and supports food-insecure veterans and students at MassBay Community College.
This is what happens when a community comes together.
