To do a Global Grant project is not as complicated as you may think. If you can find a club abroad to work with, you are half way there! Often clubs have a problem finding a partner club (as required by Rotary) to do a project. Finding such a club that is comitted and prepared is not necessarily easy. Let me show you how!
Below is a link to a site that shows the many projects where clubs are looking for partners: Rotary Foundation Global Grant List. Click on the project and you will learn a lot. Send an email to the club to discuss your role.
District7910 has District Designated Funds that you can access to help fund the project. Frankly our District has not been doing as many projects as we have money to fund. These funds are specifically earmarked by the Foundation for Global Grants. We will require you to put in some of your money, and the District will then supplement. You can figure that if you put in around 11K, the District can come up with 19K for a 30K project. It is a little more complicated then that, but you can use that as a guideline.
With these projects, the club abroad is serious and has already laid the groundwork for this or a similar project.
